Rodarius Marcell green[2] was born August 27, 1998. He is also known as Rod Wave and a singer. [3][4][5] Wave is known for his strong voice, use of hiphop and R&B[2and has been hailed as the first pioneer of soul-trap. The track from his album "Heart on Ice" was a huge popular hit via YouTube and TikTok. It peaked at 25 on the Billboard Hot 100. Wave's first album Ghetto Gospel (1999) reached number 10 on US Billboard 200. The second album, Pray 4 Love (2020) peaked at the top of the Billboard 200 at number 2,[9and ranked at number 9. It featured the song "Rags2Riches", which reached 12th on the Hot 100. His third album, SoulFly (2021), was released at the top of the Billboard 200 (marking his first album to top the charts). Wave's professional career began in 2016 with the release of his mixtape Hunger Games Vol.1. Wave released several mixtapes by himself before signing with Alamo Records. On the 14th of June the 14th of June, 2019, he dropped his mixtape PTSD that included the song "Heart on Ice". The track went viral across YouTube, TikTok and reached 25th on the Billboard Hot 100. [7] Wave's debut album Ghetto Gospel was released on November 1, 2019. It peaked at 10 on the US Billboard 200. The album that Rod Wave released in his second album, Pray 4 Love was released April 3 in 2020. It was released at the 2nd spot on the Billboard 200, with a Deluxe edition coming out on August 7. The majority of songs from the album charted in the Billboard Hot 100. "S" (featuring ATR son Son) made it to number 12 on the Hot 100. It became the top-charting track of the album. Wave was chosen to be part of XXL's 2020 Freshman Class on August 11 on the 11th of August in 2020. Wave spoke to XXL's 2020 freshman Class in July 2020 that he was in the process of working on his third album. It was originally due for August 27, 2020. In March 2021, 2021, he released the tracks for SoulFly. [16][17] The album also contains songs "Street Runner" and "Tombstone", his highest-charting track that peaked at 11 on the Hot 100.
