Anita Sarkeesian has been a Canadian and American feminist media critic for over 20 years. She's also a seasoned public speaker. Sarkeesian has a Master's degree in the field of political and social thought from York University. Inquiring about gender and feminism since at an early age, she created her website Feminist Frequency in 2009 while studying at the University. This ambitious woman planned to launch an internet series on gender representation in games, but was the target of an online harassment campaign. Her determination was not slowed by the harassment, actually, it just reinforced her determination to be feminist and media critic. She has won numerous awards in recognition of her many notable contributions to the field of feministism.
