Julia-roberts

Julia Fiona Roberts' parents are Walter Grady Roberts and Betty Lou Bredemus. Her great-grandfather John Pendleton Roberts, a farmer, was the first Roberts to settle in Atlanta. Early in his life his father became obsessed with acting. When he was in school at Emory University in 1952 he acted in productions on campus as well as in other parts of Atlanta. He joined the air force in 1953. During his time being stationed at Biloxi Mississippi, was cast in an army production that featured Betty Lou Bredemus who was part of the air force. In 1955, they got married and, in 1956, their son Eric Anthony was born. Walter attended Tulane University New Orleans Louisiana after leaving the Airforce in the year 1957. The family relocated in 1960 from Louisiana to Decatur Georgia where Walter began working at Atlanta's Academy Theater and the Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio. Walter along with Betty Lou produced a Saturday morning local television show for children called Bum Bum and His Buddies in 1964, a project that they funded themselves. Later that year they founded the Actors and Writers Workshop which was in operation for a period of six years. The couple also had two children, Lelisa Billingsley (1965) (also called Lisa) as well as Julia Billingsley (1967) (also also known as Julie).
